A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ORDERING TERRITORY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF REDLANDS
LAFCO NO. 2848 - ANNEXATION NO. 77
WHEREAS, this action is being taken pursuant to the Cortese/Knox Local Government
Reorganization Act of 1985 (commencing with Section 56000 of the California Government
Code); and
WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission of the County of San Bernardino
(LAFCO) adopted its Resolution No. 2636 on March 17, 1999, making determinations and
approving the proposed annexation of territory which comprises approximately 20 acres and is
generally located east of Wabash Avenue (Redlands City Limits), south of Highland Avenue,
west of parcel boundaries, and north of Fifth Avenue, in the Grafton area of the City of Redlands
eastern sphere of influence; and
WHEREAS, the terms and conditions of annexation as approved by the LAFCO, and
contained in LAFCO Resolution No. 2636, are as follows:
"Condition No. 1. The conducting authority for this proceeding shall be the City of
Redlands (hereinafter referred to as 'the City').
Condition No. 2. Approval is hereby granted to proceed without notice, hearing or
election with 100 percent property owner consent.
Condition No. 3. The boundaries are approved as set forth in Exhibits "A" and "A-1"
attached.
Condition No. 4. The following distinctive short-form designation shall be used
throughout this proceeding: LAFCO 2848.
Condition No. 5. All previously authorized charges, fees, assessments, and/or taxes
currently in effect by the City(annexing agency) shall be assumed by
the annexing territory in the same manner as provided in the original
authorization pursuant to Government Code Section 56844(t).
Condition No. 6 The City of Redlands shall indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the
San Bernardino County Local.Agency Formation Commission from.
any legal expense, legal action, or judgment arising out of the
Commission's approval of this proposal, including any reimbursement
of legal fees and costs incurred by the Commission.

Condition No. 7. The date of issuance of the Certificate of Completion shall be the
effective date of this annexation;" and
fIEREAS, the reasons for this annexation are; the annexation of this territory will
contribute to the orderly growth of the City of Redlands; insure the proper use of land in
conformity with the General Plan of the City of Redlands; and the territory will benefit from the
full range of services available from the City of Redlands as evidenced by the City of Redlands'
Plan for Services reviewed by the LAFCO. This proposal would accomplish the proposed change
of organization in a reasonable manner with a maximum chance of success and a minimum
disruption of service to the functions of other local agencies in the area,
WHEREAS, the regular County of San Bernardino assessment roll is utilized by the City
of Redlands; and
WHEREAS, the affected territory will be taxed for existing general bonded indebtedness
and contractual obligations of the City of Redlands;
NOW, 'THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redlands
hereby orders the territory described in Exhibits "A" and "A-1" annexed, and directs the City
Clerk to transmit a certified copy of this resolution with applicable fees required by
Section 54902.5 of the California Government Code to the Executive Officer of the San
Bernardino County Local Agency Formation Commission.

BERNARDINO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA,AS PER MAP RECORDED IN BOOK 7 OF MAPS,
PAGE 2, OFFICIAL RECORDS OF SAID COUNTY, DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS:
1. BEGINNING AT THE CENTERLINE INTERSECTION OF WABASH AVENUE AND FIFTH
AVENUE AS SHOWN ON RECORD OF SURVEY RECORDED IN BOOK 102, PAGES 3
THROUGH 9, INCLUSIVE, OF RECORDS OF SURVEY AND AMENDED BY RECORD OF
SURVEY RECORDED IN BOOK 106, PAGES 97 THROUGH 103, INCLUSIVE, OF
RECORDS OF SURVEY, OFFICIAL RECORDS OF SAID COUNTY, SAID POINT BEING
ON THE EXISTING CITY LIMIT LINE, THENCE ALONG THE EXISTING CITY LIMIT LINE
NORTH 00°15'29"WEST 1265.90 FEET TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH THE CENTERLINE
OF HIGHLAND AVENUE AS SHOWN ON SAID RECORD OF SURVEY;
2. THENCE LEAVING SAID EXISTING CITY LIMIT LINE SOUTH 89°48'55" EAST 698.59
FEET ALONG SAID CENTERLINE OF HIGHLAND AVENUE TO ITS INTERSECTION WITH
THE EAST LINE OF THE WEST ONE-HALF OF THE SOUTH ONE HALF OF LOT 6 OF
BLOCK 77 OF SAID RANCHO SAN BERNARDINO;
3. THENCE SOUTH 0014'52" EAST 1270.82 FEET ALONG SAID EAST LINE TO ITS
INTERSECTION WITH THE CENTERLINE OF SAID FIFTH AVENUE;
