HomeMy WebLinkAbout2579_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 2579 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS PROVIDING FOR THE ENFORCEMENT BY THE CITY OF REDLANDS BUILDING AND SAFETY DEPARTMENT OF RULES AND REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO THE CONSTRUCTION, MAINTENANCE, USE AND OCCUPANCY OF APARTMENT HOUSES, HOTELS AND DWELLINGS WITHIN THE CITY OF REDLANDS. WHEREAS, Section 17950, 17951, 19825 and 19826 of the Health and Safety Code of the State of California provides that any city having and enforcing local ordinances prescribing standards equal to or greater than the provisions of the State Law may enforce those local ordinances in lieu of the provisions of Part 1 .5 (commencing with Section 17910) and of Chapter I (commencing with Section 19000) , Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 19100) , and Chapter 3 (commencing with Section 19300) of Part 3 of Division 13, Health and Safety Code of the State of California; and WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has adopted the following codes: the Uniform Building Code, 1964 Edition; the Uniform Housing Code, 1964 Edition, as published by the International Conference of Building Officials; the Uniform Wiring Code, 1965 Edition, as published by the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.- the Nation Electrical Code, 1965 Edition, as published by the National Fire Protection Association; and the Uniform Plumbing Code, 1964 Edition, as published by the Western Plumbing Officials Association; which codes the City Council of the City of Redlands has determined are equal to or greater than the provisions of State Law; and WHEREAS, the Building and Safety Department of the City of Redlands is designated as the enforcement agency for the City of Redlands for such Building, Electrical, Plumbing and Housing Codes; and WHEREAS, it would be in the best interest of the City of Redlands to retain the responsibility for the enforcement of its own Building, Electrical, Plumbing and Housing Codes; IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS 1: The City of Redlands does hereby affirm that the City of Redlands Building, Electrical, Plumbing and Housing Codes pro- vide standards equal to or greater than those provided for in Part 1.5 (commencing with Section 17910) and of Chapter 1 tcommencing with Section 19000) , Chapter 2 (commencing with Section 19100) , and Chapter 3 (commencing with Section 19300) of Part 3 of Division 13, Health and Safety Code of the State of California. Section 2: The Building and Safety Department of the City of Redlands is designated as the enforcement agency for the Building, Electrical, Plumbing and Housing Codes of the City of Redlands. Sectlon 3t The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution and the same shall thereupon take effect and be in force. The City Clerk is directed to send a certified copy of the resclutisn to the State Division of Building and Housing Standards .
