HomeMy WebLinkAbout2636_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 2636 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO ESTABLISH A PARKING AND BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA WHEREAS, more than SO per cent of the business within the area of the City of Redlands shown on Exhibit A attached to this resolution have requested this City Council to establish a Parking and Business Improvement Area; and WHEREAS, the Parking and Business Improvement Area Law of 1965 provides for the establishment of such an area; BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AS FOLLOWS : Section 1: That the City Council intends to establish a Parking and Business Improvement Area in the City of Redlands. Section 2: That the boundaries of the proposed area are des- cribed and shown on Exhibit A, attached to this resolution, and incorporated as a part hereof. Section 3: That a public hearing to consider establishment of the area will be held on November 21, 1967 at the City Coun- cil chambers in Safety Hall at 7: 00 P.M. Section 4: That the proposed use of additional revenue received from the proposed tax on businesses is the acquisition, construction, or maintenance of parking facilities for the bene- fit of the area. Section 5: The initial rate of increase or additional levy of the license tax, with a breakdown by class of business, is shown on Exhibit B attached hereto and incorporated by reference as part of this resolution. Section 6: The City Clerk shall cause a copy of this Reso- lution of Intention to be published in the Redlands Daily Facts , a newspaper of general circulation in the City, and shall mail i f a copy of same to each business in the Area proposed, publication and mailing to be completed at least ten (10) days prior to the time herein set for public hearing. Moseley, City Clerk of the City of Redlands, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the City Council at an adjourned regular meeting thereof held on the 25th day of October, 1967, with the following roll call vote: AYES : Councilmen Hartzell, Cummings, DeMirjyn, Mayor Burroughs NOES : None ABSENT: Councilman Martinez Cit,l qyerk Resolution No. 2636 - Page two PARKING AND BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT AREA "Exhibit A" to Resolution No. 2636 Legal Description Beginning at the intersection of the westerly line of Cajon Street, 80 feet wide, and the northerly line of Vine Street, 45 . 2 feet wide, thence westerly along the said most northerly line of Vine Street to its intersection with the most easterly line of Eureka Street, 50 feet wide, thence northwesterly and northerly along the said easterly line of Eureka Street to its intersection with the southerly line of Redlands Boulevard, 92 feet wider thence east- erly along the said most southerly line of Redlands Boulevard to its intersection with the westerly line of Seventh Street, 50 feet wide. Thence southerly along the said most westerly line of Seventh Street and said most westerly line of Seventh Street pro- duced to intersect the most southerly line of Citrus Avenue, 70 feet wide. Thence westerly along the said southerly line of Citrus Avenue, 5 feet more or less to the most northeast corner of Lot 5, Block B of the Subdivision of Block 28 as recorded in Map Book 4, Page 2 in the office of the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino. Thence southerly along the easterly line of said Lot 5 and along said easterly line produced to its inter- section with the southerly line of an alley, 13 feet wide. Thence westerly along said southerly line of alley 79. 2 feet more or less to a point. Thence southerly at a 900 deflection 44. 3 feet more or less to point on the northerly line of Lot 22 of Block B of the said Subdivision of Lot 28. Thence southwesterly along the most northerly lines of Lots 22, 21 and 20 of said Block of said Subdivision to the most northwest corner of said Lot 20. Thence southeasterly along the most westerly line of said Lot 20, 12 feet more or less to a point. Thence southwesterly at a 900 de- flection 50 feet more or less to the easterly line of Sixth Street 60 feet wide. Thence northwesterly to the intersection of the westerly line of Sixth Street 60 feet wide and the nor- therly line of Vine Street 65 feet wide. Thence westerly along the said northerly line of Vine Street 280 .0 feet. Thence south- easterly across Vine Street to a point on the most northerly line of Lot 6, Block C of the said Subdivision of Lot 28. Said point being 5 reet, measured perpendicular from the most westerly line of said Lot 6. Thence southeasterly along a line parallel with, and 5 feet easterly of the said most westerly line of Lot 6 to a point. Said point being on the common line of Lots 10 and 11 of said Block C produced northeasterly. Thence southwesterly along said common line produced northeasterly and along said common line and along said common line produced southwesterly 275 feet more or less to a point of the most westerly line of Capon Street 80 feet wide. Thence northwesterly along said most westerly line to the Point of Beginning.
