EXPRESSING THE CITY OF REDLA.NDS INTEREST AND
PARTICIPATION IN ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT WITH
THE DEPARTMENT OF CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL
FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE ABANDONED VEHICLE
ABATEMENT PROGRAM AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION
NO., 3074
WHEREAS, Sections 227032 and 2271.0 of the Vehicle
Code of the State of California establishes the authority
for a State Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Program (A.VA) , and
WHEREAS, the Department of California. Highway Patrol
has assumed responsibilities for the Abandoned Vehicle
.Abatement Program, and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has, by Ordinance
No. 1381, as amended, adopted abandoned vehicle abatement
procedures authorized. under Section 22660 of the Vehicle
Code, and
WHEREAS, by adopting said Ordinance No. 1381, the
City qualifies to enter the State Abandoned Vehicle Abate-
ment Program (A.VA) and also to receive reimbursement from.
the AVA Trust Fund for the fiscal year 1974/75 with the
City Manager to sign a contract with the State of California.,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS,
That the City desires to make and enter into a
contract with the Department of California Highway Patrol
to participate in the State Abandoned Vehicle Program.
ADOPTED, SIGNED .AND APPROVED this 16th day of
April, 1974.
