A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
APPROVING THE AGREED UPON PRIORITY PLAN FOR EXPENDITURES
OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF
THE CALIFORNIA PARKLANDS ACT OF 1980
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the
California Parklands Act of 1980, requiring that each county shall
consult with all cities and districts within the county which are
eligible to receive grant funds under provisions of Section 5096 . 156
of the Act and develop and submit to the State for approval a Priority
Plan for expenditure of the county' s allocation; and
WHEREAS, said Priority Plan shall reflect consideration of defi-
ciencies within the county in the preservation of historical resources
and natural landscapes as well as in the provision of of recreational
areas and facilities; and
WHEREAS, said Priority Plan shall also reflect regional park or
openspace needs as well as community and neighborhood park and recrea-
tion needs; and
WHEREAS, the provisions of the parks and recreation needs should
also reflect other important statewide priorities, including conserva-
tion of energy resources , recognizing the transportation limitations
of lower-income persons and the handicapped, encouraging the use of
mass transit, encouraging the planned use of strategically located
vacant lands which have access to utilities and government services
and increasing the benefit of already-existing facilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Redlands as follows:
1. That this resolution hereby gives the approval of the City
Council of the City of Redlands to the Priority Plan agreed upon on
April 20, 1981, allocating $139, 366. 00 to the City of Redlands .
