On behalf of the City of Redlands, this letter is provided in support of the San Bernardino
County Regional Parks Department Santa Ana River Trail Expansion Project for Caltrans Active
Transportation Program Funds We fully support the Regional Parks Department's efforts to
expand the Santa Ana River Trail that will provide additional active transportation opportunities
for those living and visiting the region
With the Phase IV 7 5 mile SART expansion project, our local Orange Blossom Trail will
connect to the Santa Ana River Trail, creating greater access to miles of active transportation
options for our residents and visitors Located approximately 63 miles east of Los Angeles and
45 miles west of Palm Springs, the city of Redlands boasts a population of over 71,000 and has
24 public parks and 10 city -approved trails, one of which is the Orange Blossom Trail. This trail
is a converted rail bed from the old Santa Fe route through Redlands The City received grants to
design and build the Class I 3 5 mile Bicycle Trail that connects west and east sides of Redlands,
through the middle of town
We hope you will join us m supporting the Santa Ana River Trail Active Transportation Project
and strongly urge you to recommend the project for Caltrans Funding. The project will provide
multiple benefits to our local community and residents across San Bernardino County
Steely.
