A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
ACCEPTING THE STATE SUPPLEMENTAL LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT
FUNDS, APPROVING THE USE OF THE FUNDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
STATE REQUIREMENTS
WHEREAS, the California State Legislature created the Citizen's Option for Public Safety
("COPS") Program in fiscal year 1996-97; and
WHEREAS, the City must create a Supplemental Law Enforcement Special Fund
("SLESF") for the funds; and
WHEREAS, the funds cannot be used for administrative overhead exceeding 0.5 percent or
allocated to fund the costs of any capital project or construction project that does not directly
support frontline law enforcement.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. The City Council accept the state Supplemental Local Law Enforcement for
FY 22/23 and 23/24.
Section 2. The City Council approves the use of State Supplemental Local Law
Enforcement Grant funds for FY 22/23 and 23/24 in accordance with state requirements, as outlined
below:
• Part-time camera operators
• Automated license plate reader cameras
• PIX4D Mapping
• Cellebrite services
• Traffic motorcycles
• De-escalation training
