HomeMy WebLinkAbout4809_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 4809 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS APPROVING THE SITING OF THE CHINO BASIN MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT MANURE/SLUDGE CO-COMPOSTING PROJECT WHEREAS, residential and commercial development has increased, agricultural activities have decreased, and less land has been available for application of sludge and manure; and WHEREAS, both the Chino Basin Municipal Water District (CBMWD) and the dairies overlying the Chino groundwater basin need a reliable and economical method of disposing of surplus sludge and manure without negatively impacting water supplies; and WHEREAS, the CBMWD has completed a Solid Waste Facilities Permit application for establishment of the Chino Basin Municipal Water District Manure/Sludge Co-composting Project; and WHEREAS, Assembly Bill 2296 and the Public Resources Code Section (50000 provides that the establishment of a new or expanded solid waste facility be determined by a concurrence of the Board of Supervisors, and a majority of the majority of the Cities within the County having a majority of the incorporated population; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redlands does hereby approve the Chino Basin Municipal Water District Manure/Sludge Co-composting Project.
