A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
Or REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZINO A CHA]MGE
IN CITY COUNCIL SALARIES
WHEREAS , in 1965 the Legislature of the State of California,
authorized a scale of salaries to be paid members of City Councils,
said salary scale dependent on the official population of the city
involved, and
WHEREAS , the city Council of the City of Redlands, by ordi-
nance No. 1304, December 7, 1965, adopted the Council scale of
Council salaries authorized by the State's Legislature, and,
WEEREAS, in accordance with U. S . Department of Commerce pub-
iication PC (A) 6, dated February, 1971, the Bureau of the Census
has officially determined that in accordance with the 1970 census,
the population of the City of Redlands is officially 36, 355 persons,
and
WHEREAS , a population of this number of persons according to
State law entitles the members of the City Council to be paid at
the rate of $200. 00 per councilm.an per month,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Redlands that in accordance with the laws of the State of
California, based on the official U. S . 1970 census, the salaries
of the City Councilmen of the City of Redlands be Two Hundred Dol-
lars ($200.00) per councilman per month, effective March 16, 1971.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 16th day of March, 1971.
