A RESOLUTION OF TIME CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ENDORSING APPLICATION UNDER THE
MOBILE SOURCE AIR POLLUTION REDUCTION REVIEW COMMITTEE FY 2000-02 AB 2766 SUBVENTION
MATCH PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands desires to contribute to the regional goals of cleaner air and
recognizes the value that clean air has in benefiting the health of Redlands' citizens, attracting businesses,
and improving the quality of life in Redlands; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands receives AB 2766 funds specifically designated for clean air
projects; and
WHEREAS, medium and heavy duty vehicles are utilized by the City of Redlands' Public Works,
Equipment Maintenance, and Municipal Utilities departments AND the creation of the Redlands Rubber-
Wheeled Trolley System is underway AND an alternative fuels filling station would be of benefit to the
City and serve others in the area; and
WHEREAS, the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee (MSRC) has provided
an opportunity to enhance the use of Redlands' AB 2766 funds through its FY 2000-02 AB 2766
Subvention Match Program,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
follows:
Section I. The City Council does fully support the use of CNG powered vehicles as
demonstration of the City's commitment to clean air.
Section 2. The City Council does fully support the concepts and plans for a shared
alternative fuel filling station as defined in the City of Redlands' application for funding under said
MSRC program, including the project implementation schedule and all other elements.
Section 3. Staff is authorized to apply for MSRC funding on behalf of the City of Redlands
under its AB 2766 Subvention Match Program for the fiscal years 2000-01 and 2001-02. AB 2766 funds
in the amount identified to support the City's application arc hereby committed for this purpose.
