HomeMy WebLinkAbout6900_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 6900 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR THE ELECTIVE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 6772 WHEREAS, Government Code Section 36517 provides that the compensation for the elective office of the City Clerk shall be fixed by ordinance or resolution; and WHEREAS, by the adoption of this resolution, it is the desire of this City Council to establish the salary and benefits approved for the elective office of the City Clerk as of December 18, 2009: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows: Section 1. Effective December 18, 2009, the annual salary for the elective office of the City Clerk is Seventy Two Thousand Dollars ($72,000). In addition to such salary, the City Clerk shall receive the following City-paid annual benefits: A. Life insurance in the amount of Twenty Five Thousand Dollars ($25,000). B. Contribution of One Thousand Twenty Five Dollars ($1,025) for medical, dental and vision care under the City's health care flexible spending program. C. Contribution to deferred compensation in the amount of One Thousand Eight Hundred Forty Five Dollars($1,845) per year. D. Optional participation in a 401(a) plan or 457 plan. Section 2. The City Clerk shall receive the amount of Sixty Dollars ($60) per month as compensation for serving as the Secretary to the Board of the Redevelopment Agency of the City of Redlands. Section 3. Notwithstanding the annual salary and benefits established by this Resolution for the elective office of the City Clerk, in the event a majority of the City's Department Directors participates in a City-established salary reduction, furlough, or other similar plan to achieve a specific amount of cost savings, the City Clerk shall also be obligated to achieve similar savings through reductions in the City Clerk's compensation. Section 4. Resolution No. 6772 is hereby rescinded. ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 20th day of October, 2009.
