A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS ESTABLISHING POLICY REGARDING THE TERMS
OF OFFICE FOR COMMISSION AND ADVISORY BOARD MEMBERS
WHEREAS , it is the policy of this City Council to limit
the terms of all appointed individuals to commissions and
advisory bodies; and
WHEREAS , effective this date forward, the following policy
applies regarding the terms and conditions that appointed
individuals will serve under; and
WHEREAS, it is the intention of this City Council to abide
by the following policy:
1 . All individuals appointed to any commission or advisory
body, currently in existence or to be created in the
future , will be limited to two (2) terms .
2 . Appointments made to fill an unexpired term will con-
stitute a full term if more than half a term remains;
i .e. , if a term is four years and an appointment for
an unexpired term is for two (2) years or more, this
constitutes a full term.
3. After serving two (2) full terms , one year must elapse
before the City Council may reappoint an individual
to the same commission or advisory body, although that
person may be appointed, at any time, to a different
commission or advisory body of the city.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 2nd day of September,
1980 .
