existing under the laws of the State of California, and having its p
place of business at Redlands, California, in coneideration of the
of the indebtedness against the hereinafter described property,
does hereby GRANT to CITY OF REDLA DS, a municipal corporation, all
real property situate in the County of San Bernardino, State of California,
described as follows;
All that certain property situated in the County of San
Bernardino, State of California, now owned by the Sit
Lugonia Mutual Water Company, a corporation and more particularly`
described in that certain deed of trust executed by the Bast
Lugonia Mutual Water Company, a corporation, to the Title
Insurance and Trust Company as of the 1st day of November,
1923, and recorded on the llth day of January, 1924, in
Book 830 of Deeds at page 1, San Bernardino County Records
and re -recorded on the 13th day of September, 1935 in Book
143 at page 1 of Official Records of San Bernardino County,
and which is subject to the lien thereof. Also, including
the 31 acres conveyed to said Company by John B. Williams
and duly recorded on the 12th day of January, 1940 in Book
1387 at page 419 of Official Records of the San Bernardino
Block 23, ac ordingeto Maps of Mentone, e,CasTP r therefrom
in Bookb8 of
EXCEPTING those certain properties to be retained to the
East Lugonia Mutual Water Company described as follows,
to -wit:
A five acre parcel of land situated along the Bear Valley
Mutual Water Company's Redlands Genal northeast of Mentone, in
the County of San Bernardino, State of California, bounded
ane described as follows;
Beginning at the southwest comer of Lot 26A of
Stretches Map of Mentone, said point being on the west
line of Section 17, Township one South, Range two west, San
Bernardino Base and Meridian; thence northerly fifty two
(52.uu) feet along west line of said section 17; thence
easterly four hundred (40u.00) feet at right angles to
west line of said section 17 to a point in Lot 30
of Stretches Map of Mentone; thence southerly five hundred
forty four and fifty one hundredths (544.51) feet parallel
to the west line of said. section 17 to a point in Lot 31
of Stretches Map of Mentone; thence westerly on a line which
14 at right angles to the west line of said section 17 to
the west section line of said section 17; thence northerly
along said west section line to point of beginning and containing
five acres more or less, on which property the right to develop
water is limited to one hundred (100) miners inches, it being
understood that all other water rights of every nature pass
to Jity under this deed.

ALSO, excepting that certain Well,NO. 5 and
certain Lugonia Avenue Pipeline described'ae follows:
All of lot 1, Block 61, Town of Mentone as'shown
on the Town Piot of Mentone recorded in Book 6 of
Maps, page 35, records of San Bernardino County,'to-
gather with well, pumping plant and equipment; saving
and excepting the existing East Lugonia Mutual Water
Company's steel and concrete main pipeline and repo..
lating box now located onsaid lot 1, which are in-
eluded in the within deed. It being agreed that the,
Company is to retain an Easement in and to said main
pipeline, from said property to the Distribution line
hereinafter described.
Also, excepting to the Company all of that certaln
pipeline together with gates, turnouts, weir -boxes and
all other appurtenant structures extending from the:Bear
Valley Mutual Water Company's Redlands Camel" in Lot 16
Block 43 of Stretches map of Menton*, and running westerly
along the north side of Lugonia Avenue to Judson Street.
Also, excepting Lot 8, Block 43, according to Map of
Block 43 being a reaubdivision of a portion of Rotel Block,
as shown on Map of Mentone Townsite, as recorded in Book 6
of Maps, page 35, San Bernardino County, California, re-
corded in Book 23, page 18 of Maps, records of said County;

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF REDLANDS, 011LIFOREIA EXERCISING OPTION
TO PURCHASE RE.LL PROPERTY FROM THE EAST
LUGONIA MUTUAL WAra. COETANY.
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands is
the Optionee of that certain Option to
purchase real property from the East Lugonia
Mutual Water Company, which option was duly
recorded on July 31st, 1941, in Book 1469,
Page 333 of Official Records of the County
Recorder of the County of San Bernardino,
State of California,
AND 'NHEREAS, after due consideration,
the City Council of the City of Redlands deem
it to be for the best interest and advantage
of the City of Redlands to exercise the above
described Option and to purchase the said
Property covered thereby,
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED th t
the City of Redlands does hereby elect to
exercise said option, and to pay to Title
InsurEnce and Trust Company, the Assignee of
optionor, the agreed sum of Ten Thousand. Dollars
( 10,000.00) as set forth in said Option, for the
purchase of the following described real property:

ant structures extending from the Bear Valley Mututl Water Company's
Redlands Canal in Lot 16 Block 43 of Stretches map of Lentone and
running westerly along the north side of Lugonia Avenue to Judean
Street;

being a resubdivision of a portion of Block, as shown on Map
of Lentone Townsite as recorded in Book 6 of leaps, page 35, San
Bernardino County, California, recorded in Book 23, page 18 of
Laps, records of said County.
BE IT FIUTHER RESOLVED that the within
Resolution exercising said Option be delivered to
the 1T-ioneer Title Insurance and Trust Company, at
San Bernardino, California, and that a duplicate
thereof be delivered to the Title Insurance and
Trust Company, at Los Angeles, California. Further
that a city warrant be issued to said Title Insurance
and Trust Company for the sum of Ten Thousand 2Jollars
(410,000.00) as the purchase price for said. property,
to be delivered to the Pioneer Title and Insurance
Company concurrently with the delivery of said within
Resolution.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of
Redlands shall order the usual owner's policy of title
insurance on the said above described propertwwith
liability limited to Ten Thousand Dollars (410,000.00),
andthat said City pay the expense of said policy of
title insurance, pursuant to the terms of said option.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the
City of Redlands and the City Clerk are hereby authorized
to execute on the behalf of the said City of Redlands
all of the necessary instruments and documents to complete
the purchase of the said real property.
