A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
.ADOPTING AN AMENDED CONFLICT OF INTEREST CODE PURSUANT TO
THE POLITICAL REFORM ACT OF 1974 BY REPEALING RESOLUTION 6347
IN ITS ENTIRETY AND REPLACING IT WITH RESOLUTION 6496
WHEREAS,the Legislature of the State of California has enacted the Political Reform Act of
1974, Government Code section 81000 et seq. (the "Act"), which contains provisions relating to
conflicts of interest which potentially affect all officers, employees and consultants of the City of
Redlands(the"City"),and requires all public agencies to adopt and promulgate a Conflict of Interest
Code; and
WHEREAS,the City adopted a Conflict of Interest Code on October 5, 1976,by Resolution
No. 3290 of the City Council; and
WHEREAS,the City has amended its Conflict of Interest Code periodically as mandated by
law and as necessary; and
WHEREAS, the City last amended its Conflict of Interest Code by Resolution No. 6347 on
December 7, 2004; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to update the Code and add to the list of those designated as
employees certain additional members of City staff, additional Advisory Board members and
Commissioners and re-define categories of disclosure and to make those newly identified members
subject to said Conflict of Interest Code; and
NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands that
the Conflict of Interest Code as set forth in Resolution 6347 is hereby repealed in its entirety and
replaced with the attached copy of the Conflict of Interest Code which is hereby adopted.
