HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinances_2846ORDINANCE NO. 2846 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AMENDING TITLE 18 OF THE REDLANDS MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADOPTING A REVISED LAND USE ZONING MAP AND PREZONING CERTAIN PROPERTY LOCATED IN THE UNINCORPORATED AREA OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO (ZONE CHANGE NO. 454) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: WHEREAS, in accordance with Governnent Code section 65855, the Planuning Commission of the City of Redlands has reviewed proposed Zone Change No. 454 (the "Zone Change") to change the City's land use zoning map for 11.97 acres identified as Assessor Parcel Nos. 0299-011-11 and 0299-011-12 and located on the east side of Wabash Avenue, north of Sylvan Boulevard from unincorporated San Bernardino County RL-5 (Rural Living — 5 Acre Minimum) to the City of Redlands R-1 (Single Family Residential) District, and WHEREAS, on February 28, 2017, the Planning Commission held a noticed public hearing on the Zone Change and considered verbal and written testimony of City staff, the applicant for the proposed Zone Change, and testimony from members of the public; and WHEREAS, the Planning Conunission has reconrnnended to the City Council that the Zone Change be approved; and WHEREAS on March 11, 2017, notice of this City Council's public hearing for the Zone Change was published in the Redlands Daily Facts by the City Clerk; and WHEREAS, on March 21, 2017, the City Council held a public hearing and considered the staff written and oral reports, the recommendation of the Plarming Commission, the testimony and written evidence submitted by and on behalf of the applicant, and testimony by members of the public; and WHEREAS, following the public hearing on the Zone Change, at which this City Council provided opportunity for public testimony, the City Council determined that adoption of the Zone Change is in the best interests of the public health, safety and general welfare; THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The zoning designation for approximately 11.97 acres of property, identified as Assessor Parcel Nos. 0299-011-11 and 0299-011-12 and located on the east side of Wabash Avenue, north of Sylvan Boulevard from unincorporated San Bernardino 1 1:lcc1erkl0rdinancesli1os 2800-2899 in Word12846.0rd W 454 3.21.17.doc County RL-5 (Rural Living — 5 Acre Minimum) is hereby changed to the City of Redlands R-1 (Single Family Residential) District, as more particularly shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit "A." Section 2. Pursuant to Goveriunent Code section 65859, the new zoning designation prescribed by this ordinance shall take effect at the time of a>mexation of Assessor Parcel Nos. 0299-011-11 and 0299-011-12 to the City of Redlands becomes effective. Section 3. The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ordinance and shall cause it, or a su>nmary of it, to be published once in the Redlands Daily Facts, a newspaper of general circulation within the City, and thereafter, this ordnance shall take effect in accordance with law.
