RESOLUTION CONGERNING LDVAHCES AUTHORIZED BY THE UNITED STATES OPAMERICA
UNDER PU21IC LAW 560 TO AID 1N FINANCING THE COST OF CONSTRUCTING PUBLIC
WORKS.
WHEREAS, The City of RedlanAs herein called the Qpplicant"q after
thorOugh consideration of the various aspeats of the problem and stuay of
available data has hereby determined that the construction of cartain
public workeg generally described as exten8ions and improvozents to existin,,:,
city sewerage Wilities to comprise (a) new or enlarged sewage treatment
and dieposal plart (b) new or anlarged main and trunk sewers is desiTable
and in the public interest and to that end it is necessary that action pre-
liminary to the const-r-nuetion. 'Of said works be taken immediately; and
WHEREASt under the terms- of Pablia Law 5609 83rd Gongresagas amended,.
the United States of America has authorized the making of advameas to ynbiic
bodies to aid in fixanoing the cost of engineering and architectural earveys ,
designs, plans, working drawings, specifications or other action projimi-
nary to and in preparation for the construction of public works; and
WHEREAS, tha Applicant has examined and duly considered such A and
the Applicant considers it M- be in the public interest and to its benefit
to file an applieation railer said Act and to authorize other action in
connection therewith;
NOWt THERMaE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Caunoijq the governing bod'_y
of said Applicant, as follow

I. Mat the construction of said public works is essential to and is
to the best interests of the Applicant* and to the end that such public
works may be provided as promptly ae practicable it is desirable that
action preliminary to the conitruction thereof be undertaken immediately;
2. That Fred H. Woyknan be hereby authorized to it in behalf of the
Applicant an applQation .in form required by the United States and in
conformity with said Act) for an advanee to be made by the United States to
the Applicant to aid in defraying the cost of plan preparation for the
above described public works, which shall consist generally of extensions
and improvements to existing city seweraga facilities to comprise (a) new.
or enlarged sewage treatment And disposal plat Q new or enlarged nain
amd trunk sewers.
3. That if such advance be made, the Applicant shall provide or make
nscossar-y amrangaments. to provide such funds, in addition to the advance, ,�3
may be required to defray the- oast of the plan preparation of such public
works;
K The said Fred H. Workman is hereby authorized to furnish such infor-
mation and take such other action as may be necessary to enable the Appli-
cant to qualify for the advance ;
5. That the officer designated in the preceding paragraph is hereby
designated as the authorized representative of the Applicant for the pur-
pose of furnishing to the United States such information, data, and doau-
ments pertaining to the applit atian for an advance as may be required; and

6. That certified copies of this resolution be included as part of
the WliCation for an advanae to be oubmitted to the United States,
