HomeMy WebLinkAbout6202_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION 6202 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS DELEGATING AUTHORITY OF THE CITY COUNCIL REGARDING POLICY 5.20b PERTAINING TO STANDARDS FOR TRAFFIC SERVICE TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION. WHEREAS, the General Plan of the City of Redlands includes a Circulation Element and a number of Guiding and Implementing Policies establishing standards for Traffic Service; and WHEREAS, policy 5.20b provides that within the area identified in GP Figure 5.3, including that unincorporated County area identified on GP Figure 5.3 as the donut hole, maintain LOS C or better; however, accept a reduced LOS on a case by case basis upon approval by a four-fifths (4/5ths) vote of the total authorized membership of the City Council; and WHEREAS, once the City Council has acted to allow a reduced LOS for a street segment or street intersection it would be appropriate to delegate future determinations forthe same street segment or street intersection to the Planning Commission; and WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed, discussed and considered public testimony with regard to this issue, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The above mentioned recitals are true and correct. Section 2. The City Council hereby delegates to the Planning Commission authority to take final action with regard to General Plan policy 5.20b when the Council has previously made the appropriate determinations regarding reduced LOS for a particular street segment or intersection. Section 3. The Planning Commission's decision to accept the reduced LOS in accordance with General Plan Policy 5.20b shall be made by at least a six-sevenths vote of the total membership of the Planning Commission.
