HomeMy WebLinkAbout7050_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 7050 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTION OF CERTAIN RECORDS MAINTAINED BY THE OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK PURSUANT TO THE CITY COUNCIL'S REGULATIONS GOVERNING THE DISPOSITION OF RECORDS WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands ("this City Council") on February 20, 2007 adopted Resolution No. 6576 establishing regulations governing the retention and disposition of City records; and WHEREAS, in accordance with Government Code Section 34090 and Resolution No. 6576,the head of a City department may destroy any City record, instrument, book or paper, without making a copy thereof, after the same is no longer required and upon the adoption of a resolution by the City Council and the written consent of the City Attorney; and WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City of Redlands has made a written request to destroy certain records pursuant to Resolution No. 6576 as demonstrated in the form attached hereto as Exhibit"A;"and WHEREAS, a listing of the records to be destroyed is attached hereto as Exhibit"A;" and WHEREAS,this City Council has determined that the records listed in Exhibit"A" are no longer needed by the City and may be destroyed pursuant to the provisions of the Government Code and Resolution No. 6576; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows: Section 1. The City records described in Exhibit"A"to this resolution may be destroyed by the office of the City Attorney. ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 7h day of June, 2011. That the minimum retention time periods required by the regulations contained in Resolution No. 6576 have been satisfied for all records included in the attached request form; 4. That retention of the record is no longer required for the operation of the department, or to satisfy a City Council policy adopted by resolution, or a City Council request, or by the city for administrative, historical, research, fiscal, legal or cultural purposes; 5. That the destruction or other disposition of the record will not violate state law, city regulations, or other applicable law; and 6.
