HomeMy WebLinkAbout2607_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO, 2607 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ESTABLISHING SCHEDULE OF RATES TO BE CHARGED BY DISPOSAL DE- PARTMENT AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 2470 WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that the adoption of the rate schedule contained herein will assure a continuing high standard of disposal service by the Disposal Department for the people of Redlands; and WHEREAS, said rate schedule corresponds with the average rates charged for disposal service in cities of comparable population and in the same class as the City of Redlands ; and WHEREAS, the increase in cost of maintenance and operation of the Disposal Department emphasizes the necessity of adopting the proposed collection rate schedule to keep pace with the growth and development of the City of Redlands; NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redlands does hereby RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: 1. That beginning August 1, 1967, the following schedule of col- lection rates for service by the Disposal Department shall be in force and effect: Residential Collections: $2. 65 per month with the exception of those areas outlined on the map attached hereto, where the rate shall be $3. 75 per month. Multiple Dwellings: $1.60 per month for each unit in a mul- tiple dwelling. Commercial: Beginning at $3.80 per month and upward as determined by standard rate tables in the Disposal Department administered by the Superintendent. (A copy of said table is attached hereto and shall be a part of this resolution. ) 2. All garbage collected at any private dwelling or residence, and from every business place or other places not private residences, shall be collected by the City or such independent contractors or agents as shall be authorized by the City Council to make such collections. 3 . The provisions of this resolution shall not apply to the fol- lowing premises : a. A dwelling on a single parcel of land which includes five (5) acres or more and is used primarily for agricultural purposes . b. Residences of persons who may be granted exemptions by the City Council upon clear and satisfactory evidence that application of this resolution would cause substantial hard- ship to such persons. The City Manager may authorize such exemptions following a report and recommendation from a committee of three members, who shall be the City Treasurer, the Director of Finance, and the Disposal Superintendent .
