HomeMy WebLinkAbout3833_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 3833 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS SUPPORTING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A UNIFORM. EQUITABLE FORMULA FOR THE DISTRIBUTION OF TAXES UPON ANNEXATION WHEREAS, the Revenue and Taxation Code requires that upon annexation the City and County must agree upon distribution of taxes amongst the effected agencies; and WHEREAS, no annexation may proceed without agreement on the part of both the City and the County; and WHEREAS, previous attempts to negotiate a reasonable and equitable formula for distribution have not been entirely suc- cessful; and WHEREAS, the Local Agency Formation Commission has prepared an indepth analysis of the tax distribution problem which appears to provide an equitable distribution formula. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that the City of Redlands does hereby express its support of the LAFCO recommendation and request the Board of Supervisors to direct the establishment of a uniform policy for tax distribution upon annexation in accordance with the proposed League of California Cities formula as recommended by the Local Agency Formation Commission report.
