HomeMy WebLinkAbout8423RESOLUTION NO. 8423 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS APPROVING A ONE-YEAR EXTENSION OF THE EXPIRATION DATE FOR COMMISSION REVIEW & APPROVAL NO. 907 TO CONSTRUCT A 7,198 SQUARE -FOOT COMMERCIAL/OFFICE BUILDING AND RELATED SITE IMPROVEMENTS LOCATED AT 1702 WEST PARK AVENUE (APN: 0292-155- 22-0000). WHEREAS, Grace Phelps, property owner and applicant, has submitted an application for Extension of Time No. 1 to construct the project approved with Commission Review & Approval No. 907 for a 7,198 square -foot multi -tenant office and commercial building located at 1702 West Park Avenue (APN: 0292-155-22-0000) in the Commercial Industrial (EV/IC) District of the East Valley Corridor Specific Plan; and WHEREAS, on December 15, 2020, the Redlands City Council held a public hearing, and adopted Resolution Nos. 8136, 8137, 8138, 8139, 8140, and 8150 to approve Commission Review & Approval No. 907, the Socio-Economic Cost/Benefit Study for the project, and related land use actions for the project; and WHEREAS, Redlands Municipal Code section 18.12.130 permits an applicant to request a one-year extension of time to extend the expiration date for a Commission Review & Approval permit, provided the total number of such one-year extensions do not exceed three; and WHEREAS, the applicant intends to develop the project approved by Commission Review & Approval No. 907, and requests the extension due to the pandemic and related economic and financial conditions; and WHEREAS, following the hearing for the extension of time to Commission Review & Approval No. 907, the City Council determined that the approval of the requested one-year extension of time is in the best interests of the public health, safety, and general welfare. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. California Environmental Quality Act. Approval of this Resolution is exempt from further environmental review pursuant to Section 15061(b)(3) of the State Guidelines implementing the California Environmental Quality Act, as there is no possibility of any potentially significant environmental effects as a result of the time extension. City Council Resolution No. 8150 was adopted on December 15, 2020, and determined the project was exempt from environmental review in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act. SECTION 2. Approval of Extension of Time. The proposed one-year extension of time for Commission Review & Approval No. 907 is hereby approved in accordance with Redlands Municipal Code Section 18.12.130. 1 E\Resolutions\Res 8400-8499\8423 CRA No. 907 Time Extension.doe SECTION 3. Expiration Date. The new expiration date for Commission Review & Approval No. 907 shall be December 15, 2023. The project shall remain subject to all original Conditions of Approval contained in City Council Resolution No. 8137. SECTION4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective upon adoption.
