A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS FOR PAYING
AND REPORTING THE VALUE OF EMPLOYER PAID MEMBER CONTRIBUTIONS
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Redlands has the authority to implement
Government Code Section 20636(c) (4) pursuant to Section 20691; and
WHEREAS, the governing body of the City of Redlands has a written labor policy or
agreement which specifically provides for the normal member contributions to be paid by the
employer, and reported as additional compensation; and
WHEREAS, one of the steps in the procedures to implement Section 20691 is the
adoption by the City Council of the City of Redlands of a resolution to conunence paying and
reporting the value of said Employer Paid Member Contributions (EPMC); and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands has identified the following
conditions for the purpose of its election to pay EPMC:
• This benefit shall apply to "classic" members of PERS as defined by Ca1PERS hired
prior to March 11, 2010, of the Redlands Association of Safety Management
Employees (RASME).
• Effective the first payroll period commencing on or after the adoption of this
resolution, the benefit shall consist of paying six percent (6%) of normal
contributions for safety members as EPMC, and reporting the same percent of
compensation earnable as additional compensation.
• Effective the first payroll period commencing on or after July 1, 2015, the benefit
shall consist of paying three percent (3%) of normal contributions for miscellaneous
members as EPMC, and reporting the same percent of compensation earnable as
additional compensation.
• Effective the first payroll commencing on or after January 1, 2016, the benefit shall
consist of paying zero percent (0%) of non-nal contributions for miscellaneous
members as EPMC, and reporting the same percent of compensation earnable as
additional compensation.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redlands
elects to pay and report the value of EPMC, as set forth above.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the effective date of this resolution shall be June 2,
2015.
