RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF REDLAN 3S ,
REQUESTING THE U� S , ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS TO
UNDERTAaE EROSION CONTROL MEASURES TO PROTECT THE
FLORIDA STREET - GREENSPOT ROAD INTERSECTION
WHEREAS , on the 26th day of January, 1969, the President
declared a "major disaster" in the County of Sari Bernardino,
State of California, under the provisions of Public Law 515 ,
and
WHEREAS , in connection with said disaster the San
Bernardino County Board of Supervisors by resolution of Feb-
ruary 3, 1969, did request to the office of Emergency Plan-
ning that the appropriate Federal agency, U. S . Army Corps of
Engineers, provide debris clearance, levy and channel resto-
ration of major floodways including Mill Creek near Mentone
with said Mill Creek channel work being tentatively scheduled
by the U. S . Army Carps of Engineers for the summer of 1969y
and
WHEREAS , the disaster flood damage by Mill Creek to
Florida Street - Greenspot Road intersection which is under
the joint jurisdiction of the City of Redlands and the County
of San Bernardino is yet unrepaired or replaced? and
WHEREAS , it is the intention of said City and County to
accomplish the restoration of the aforementioned intersec-
tion in a timely manner;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redlands that the U. S . Army= Corps of Engineers
is hereby .respectfully requested to take whatever erosion
control measures are necessary to protect the to be restored
Florida Street - Greenspot Road intersection, Mentone, in con-
Junction with the proposed upcoming Mill Creek channel and
levy work.- and
BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that the City Engineer is hereby
directed to transmit certified copies of this resolution to
the U. S . Army Corps of Engineers a,nd the County of San
Bernardino..1 erna.rdino.
