A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
EXPRESSING THE CITY COUNCIL'S SUPPORT FOR
FORMING A NEW STATE PARK SYSTEM IN THE
SAN TIMOTEO BADLANDS AREA
WHEREAS, the California State Department of Parks and Recreation, and the
Wildlife Conservation Board, and Riverside County Regional Conservation Authority,
and Riverside Land Conservancy have been working together to form a new State Park
System in the San Timoteo Canyon Badlands area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has also been participating in the acquisition of
parklands by purchasing properties downstream of San Timoteo creek; and
WHEREAS, there is a need to find the funding to pay for land acquisition costs
necessary to complete the Park;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Redlands hereby endorses the above-mentioned agencies' efforts to complete the park,
and hereby requests Assemblyman Cook, Assemblyman Emmerson and Senator
Dutton to seek State Park Proposition 84 funding to complete the acquisition of the
required parklands.
