A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE REDLANDS ESTABLISHING
SPECIFIC FEES AND CHARGES TO RECOVER COSTS REASONABLY BORNE AND
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 6809
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands ("this City Council") has found and
determined that the detrimental effects of vacant, abandoned properties lead to neighborhood
decline, public nuisances, lower property values, mosquito and vector control issues, increased
crime and the discouragement of buyers from purchasing homes adjacent to or within
neighborhoods with such vacant, abandoned properties; and
WHEREAS, to preserve the public health and safety of the residents of Redlands, this
City Council adopted Ordinance No. 2709 adding Chapter 8.10 to the Redlands Municipal Code
to establish regulations governing vacant, abandoned properties; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 8.10 of the Redlands Municipal Code requires that owners of
vacant, abandoned properties annually register such properties with the City on forms provided
by the City; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 8.10 of the Redlands Municipal Code further authorizes the City, by
resolution of the City Council, to establish an annual fee for the registration of vacant, abandoned
properties in an amount that reflects the cost reasonably borne by the City in processing such
registrations; and
WHEREAS, by adoption of this resolution, it is the desire of the City Council of the City
of Redlands to establish a fee for the annual registration of abandoned properties, in an amount
that reflects the costs reasonably borne by the City in processing such registrations and
applications;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
follows:
Section 1. The specific fees and charges for the corresponding regulations products and
services provided by the City as enumerated in Chapter 3.16 of the Redlands Municipal Code are

Section 3. The City Council hereby finds and determines that the adoption of this
Resolution is exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act pursuant to
