Home My WebLink About3839_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 3839 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ENTITLED "ESTABLISHMENT OF A SCHEDULE OF INTERMENT AND DISINTERMENT FEES , OVERTIME CHARGES, LOT AND MAUSOLEUM CRYPT PRICES, RESALE ITEM PRICES, AND MARKER SETTING FEES , PLUS CREDIT AND DISCOUNT REGULATIONS APPLICABLE TO THE OPERA- TION OF HILLSIDE MEMORIAL PARK, A CEMETERY OWNED BY THE CITY OF REDLANDS, CALIFORNIA, A MUNICIPAL, CORPORATION" AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 3761. (e) Baby Interment Fees : If casket does not measure more than 12 inches wide and 24 inches long, interment can be made in smaller spaces to be picked by Cemetery Director. (f) Baby Disinterment Fees : Fee schedule same as Section One (c) for smaller sizes. (g) Overtime work is defined as interment work, or graveside services required outside of cemetery operating hours. All interments and disinterments requiring overtime work will be charged at double the regular fees for these services (see above for regular fee schedule. ) Resolution 3839 Page two (h) Cemetery Operating Hours : 1. Weekdays (excluding Saturday afternoons , Sundays , and City established holidays) . 8 :00 a.m. to 4 : 30 p.m. 2. All interment services conducted in the cemetery, to avoid overtime charge, shall leave the premises no later than 3 : 30 p.m. on weekdays and 11:00 a.m. on Saturdays. (i) Interments Requiring Overtime Work: Overtime work rates shall be charged for all funerals leaving the cemetery after 3 :30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays , Wednesdays, Thursdays , and Fridays. Overtime is charged at the rate of $15. 00 for each half hour or portion thereof for any funeral leaving the cemetery after 3 :30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and 11 :00 a.m. on Saturday. Minimum overtime charge is $30 . 00 . Except in cases of extreme emergency, as determined by the Cemetery Director, interments will not be authorized on Saturdays , Sundays, or holidays observed by city employees. When authorized, the interment charges will be doubled. The customer is required to make payment prior to the placement of the order. The mark-up for such special orders will be 100% of the catalog price. Sales tax will be added, as required. Transportation charges will be paid by Hillside Memorial Park. SECTION FOUR: Marker and Setting Fees (a) Marker Setting (Cement borders supplied by manufacturer) 12" x 24" (Singles) $60 . 00 + $ 5.00 to Endowment $65.00 15" x 36" (Doubles) 65.00 + 10 .00 to Endowment 75. 00 8" x 16" 40.00 + 5.00 to Endowment 45.00 6" x 12" 40 . 00 + 5. 00 to Endowment 45. 00 (b) Setting Fee (Borders supplied by Cemetery) -- including all sources of supply (See NOTE*) : Same as Section Four (a) with the cost of cement work added. *NOTE: If necessitated by manufacturing cost price varia- tions , prices charged for resale items may be changed by the Cemetery Director as approved by the City Manager. California Sales Tax will be added. SECTION FIVE: Credit Regulations (a) No interment will be allowed unless and until the purchaser has paid to the city an amount equal to the interment fee for such interment. The only exceptions will be those cases where all burial charges are to be paid from an estate, and then only after the Cemetery Director, or his representative, has verified with the Administrator or Executor of the estate that there will be sufficient funds to satisfy burial expense. Resolution 3839 Page six On behalf of their customers, mortuaries located in the City of Redlands, City of Loma Linda, and the unincorporated areas of Yucaipa and Calimesa may be allowed to make credit purchases without a down payment. In all such cases, the City of Redlands will hold the mortuary responsible for payment when due, if not paid by the customer. In all grave spaces in which a body is interred, the City shall require that all costs, including the interment fees, purchases of vases, markers and borders , shall be paid in full within twelve (12) months from the date of interment. (b) Credit Terms for Pre-Need Sales There will be a handling charge of twelve percent (12%) of the unpaid balance of any sales contract for cemetery goods and services. This one time charge may be collected in cash in addition to the down payment received, or may be added to the unpaid balance and collected as part of the contractual monthly payments . The handling charge shall be calculated on the unpaid balance of all goods, services , endowment care charges, etc. , and will include sales tax amounts. This charge is non-refundable in the event of subsequent prepayment of the contract balance. (c) Processing and Transfer Fee A processing fee of $25.00 will be charged on all property returns. This fee may be waived by the management in instances where the return of property is advantageous to the City. SECTION SIX: This resolution shall become effective after the adoption thereof.
