A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS TO
ESTABLISH A FOUR-WAY STOP INTERSECTION AT KANSAS STREET
AND STATE STREET PURSUANT TO TITLE 10 OF THE REDLANDS
MUNICIPAL CODE
WHEREAS, pursuant to studies made under the authority of Title 10 of the Redlands
Municipal Code, and the presentation of information contained in such studies, the City Council of
the City of Redlands ("this City Council") has determined that certain traffic regulations are necessary
to protect the public health, safety, and welfare and should be established pursuant to Title 10 of the
Redlands Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this City Council to replace the existing two-way stop
intersection with the installation of a four-way stop intersection at Kansas Street and State Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. This City Council determines that approval of this Resolution is exempt from
environmental review under California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to State
CEQA Guidelines section 15301(c) which provides an exemption for minor alterations of existing
public streets and sidewalks. This City Council finds that the installation of two stop signs to
implement this resolution involves negligible or no expansion of an existing use.
Section 2. Pursuant to Section 10.36.010 of the Redlands Municipal Code, this City Council
hereby establishes the installation of a four-way stop intersection at Kansas Street and State Street.
Section 3. City staff is hereby directed to take all actions to undertake painting and signage
to implement this Resolution.
