A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF REDLANDS,
SUPPORTING PLAN 'T" OF THE U. S. CORPS OF ENGINEERS
FOR THE CONTROL OF THE SANTA ANA RIVER
WHEREAS : The City of Redlands is bordered on the north
by the Santa Ana River; and
WHEREAS : The property and lives of many residents are sub-
ject to hazards of possible flooding; and
WHEREAS : The City owns and operates facilities along the
bank of the Santa Ana River; and
WHEREAS : Flooding has occurred in the past, endangering
private property and public-owned facilities; and
WHEREAS : The U. S. Corps of Engineers has developed several
alternate proposals for the control of the Santa Ana River, the
said proposals being contained in the publication entitled "In-
formation Brochure, Alternative Proposals for Flood Control and
Allied Purposes" and dated August, 1974; and
WHEREAS : Alternate Plan "F" in the above-mentioned brochure
will provide flood protection for the City of Redlands from the
Santa Ana River; and
WHEREAS : The U. S. Corps of Engineers must demonstrate to
the Congress of the United States that their plan has public
support;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED: That the City Council of the City
of Redlands, California, hereby supports Alternate Plan "F" for
the control of the Santa Ana River as described in the afore-
mentioned brochure.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 17th day of September,
1974.
