HomeMy WebLinkAbout2732_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 2732 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS OPPOSING INCREASE IN GAS RATES WHEREAS the Southern California Gas Company has applied to the Public Utilities Commission of the State of California, in Case No. 50713, for an increase in gas rates , and WHEREAS the announced purpose of the increase is to offset an increase in cost of gas from its supplier in the amount of 2 . 14�/Mcf, and WHEREAS the proposed increase to the user varies from 3.4�/Mcf to the firm user, which is the general public, to . 34/Mcf to steam and cement plant users, and WHEREAS the above spread would appear to indicate that either the firm user would be subsidizing the steam and cement plants or the steam and cement plants have been subsidizing the firm user in the past, and WHEREAS the data presented is insufficient to support a premise of past subsidy on the part of the steam and cement plant users; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redlands is opposed to the increase as presented, and protests on the grounds that the spread as proposed does not fairly distribute the increase and is to the detriment of the general public.
