A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING .C.Ga ISSTAN4 OF `PETE; CITY OF REDLANDS
APPROVING NO. 17 TO T.NE RE:i LANIDS GENEIU4sL PLAN, ADDING
CONSERVATION 1'ND OPEN SPACE ELEMENTS AND isCC,k2AIIEiIT7G T.HAT TRm
CITE' COUNCIL APPROVE AND ADOPT THE 7`ZIEND'MIENT
WHEREAS, a General Plan has been adopted by the City Council
of the City of Redlands; and
WHEREAS, Sections 65302 and 65563 of the Government Code of
the State of California require that a general plan include
conservation and open space elements consisting of standards and
plans for the reservation of open space: lana for l,areservatior. of
natural resources, (2) managed production of resources, (3) outdoor
recreation, and (4) public health and safety. The Conservation
Element will consider the conservation, development and utilization
of natural resources which include water, air, plant life, soils,
grater courses, wildlife, minerals, open space, and other natural
resources.
WHEREAS, the Planning Department of the County of San Bernardino
has prepared conservation and open space elements for the general
plan of said County based upon thorough research and analysis; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Cammission and the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Sall Bernardino have conducted hearings on said
conservation and open space elements and the Board of Supervisors
will approve and adopt conservation and €pen space elements as an
amendment to the General Plan of the County of Sacs Bernardino; and
WHEREAS, the effectiveness of the conservation and open space
elements as a part of the General Plan is dependent upon uniform
and consistent inglurcanta'tion by each of the respective jurisdictions
comprising the entire county area as Well as Redlands, and
WHEREAS the conservation and open space elements have been
rt?v1E'.wed by the Planning Commission of the City of Redlands at a
public hearing holt, on June 26, 1973;
NOW, T_iB;REFORZ, BZ 1T RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of
the Cita- of Rr..?'iilc"ands does hereby approve amending the City of
Redlands u.>ancr l Plan tQ include the conservation and open space
elements a5 prepared and adopted by the County of San Bernardino
and recC.-...":e- nds that the City Council of the City of Redlands adopt
said element.o as Amendment No. 17 to the Redlands General Plan.
