HomeMy WebLinkAbout5582_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 5582 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ADOPTING AMENDMENT NO. 67(B) REVISING THE TEXT OF SECTION 4.40 OF THE LAND USE ELEMENT OF THE REDLANDS GENERAL PLAN. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Redlands has prepared an amendment to the text of the Redlands General Plan pursuant to Planning Commission Resolution No. 889 after holding a public hearing upon notice in accordance with the Government Code of the State of California:. and WHEREAS, Redlands Planning Commission Resolution No. 889 has been certified to the City Council of the City of Redlands; and WHEREAS; on the 25th day of November, 1998, a Notice of Public Hearing was published in the Redlands Daily Facts and the San Bernardino County Sun: and WHEREAS, following said public hearing, the City Council declares that the proposed amendment is in the interest of the public health, safety and general welfare: and WHEREAS, all of the provisions of the Government Code relating to the amendment of the General Plan have been compiled with,- NOW, ith;NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands: That the amendment to the General Plan adopted by the Redlands Planning Commission in Resolution No. 889 shall be adopted as follows: AMENDMENT NO. 67 (B) TO THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS Amend Section 4.40 of the Land Use Element of the Redlands General Plan as follows 4.40 Residential Land Use Classifications Rural Living - The Rural Living category designates up to .4 unit per gross acre (1 unit per 2.5 gross acres) on slopes 0 to 15 percent and .2 unit per gross acre (1 unit per 5 gross acres) on slopes greater than 15 percent. The intent of this land use category is to retain sufficient open area to preserve natural features of the area and/or encourage agricultural use of the majority of each parcel. Resolution No. 5582 Page 2 Very Low Density - The Very Low Density category designates from 0 to 2.7 units per gross acre on slopes 0 to 15 percent. On slopes greater than 15 percent to 30 percent the maximum density is .4 unit per gross acre (one unit per 2.5 acres). On slopes greater than 30 percent the maximum density is .2 unit per gross acre (one unit per 5 acres). Smaller infill lots which are consistent with the prevailing development pattern may be approved. The intent of this land use category is to encourage limited, low-density residential development. General Plan policies encourage the retention of natural hillside areas, and minimize grading and vegetation removal.
