A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S COMMITMENT OF A 50%LOCAL MATCH FOR THE
CITY'S APPLICATION TO THE ALTERNATIVE FUEL INFRASTRUCTURE GRANT
PROGRAM FUNDED BY THE MOBILE SOURCE AIR POLLUTION REDUCTION
REVIEW COMMITTEE
WHEREAS, the Mobile Source Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee has made
available$5,000,000 to fund alternative fuel infrastructure development projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands owns and operates its own alternative fueling station at
its Corporate Yard; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands is experiencing increasing volume of sales and demand
for compressed natural gas fueling opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has established Fund 221 for Air Quality Improvement
and receives an annual allocation of funds from South Coast Air Quality Management District;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has committed to providing the community with
opportunities to increase sustainable environmental practices; and
WHEREAS, based on fund balances in fiscal year 2011 the City's Air Quality
Improvement Fund will have sufficient funds for the $80,000 match amount;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
follows:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Redlands approves the filing of an application
for the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Grant Program.
Section 2. The Mayor, or any member of the City Council, is hereby authorized to
execute, on behalf of the City, all necessary applications, certifications, agreements and
amendments to agreements associated with the grant.
Section 3. The Quality of Life Director,or his designee, is authorized to complete and
submit all documents, including but not limited to applications,payment requests,progress
reports which may be necessary for the grant.
Section 4. The use of$80,000 from the City's Air Quality Improvement Fund (22 1) is
approved for the grant matching requirement.
