HomeMy WebLinkAbout6096_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 6096 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION, DIVISION OF RECYCLING FOR BEVERAGE CONTAINER RECYCLING IN PUBLIC VENUES WHEREAS, grant funds are available from the Department of Conservation, Division of Recycling for recycling in public venues; and, WHEREAS, the City of Redlands is expanding its recycling programs to improve overall diversion in compliance with State regulations; and, WHEREAS, recycling in public places sends an important message to our citizens regarding the importance of recycling in our daily activities; and, WHEREAS, the successful implementation of a grant project to recycle beverage containers in public venues will increase the City's diversion of waste and improve the City's regulatory compliance with State diversion mandates; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: I. The City Council of the City of Redlands authorizes submission of an application to the California Department of Conservation, Division of Recycling for a 2002/2003 and 2003/2004 Beverage Container Recycling Competitive Grant. 2. The City Council of the City of Redlands authorizes and empowers the Mayor or any member of the City Council to execute in the name of the City of Redlands all necessary applications, contracts, agreements and amendments for the purpose of securing grant funds; and the Municipal Utilities Director or his designee to review, prepare, and authorize in the name of the City of Redlands all necessary payment requests, progress reports, and final reports to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application.
