HomeMy WebLinkAbout6217_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 6217 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING APPLICATION, ACCEPTANCE, AND EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT WITH CALTRANS, FOR A MATCHING GRANT FOR AN FAA APPROVED PROJECT UNDER AIRPORT IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (AIP) NO. 3-06-0195-07. WHEREAS, the City of Redlands and the Federal Aviation Administration are parties to Federal Airport Improvement Program Grant No. 3-06-0195-07 for a project for Runway and Taxiway Reconstruction at the Redlands Municipal Airport; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 21683.1 of the Public Utilities Code (PUC) the California Transportation Commission (CTC) is authorized to allocate funds for a portion of the local match for AIP grants; and WHEREAS, the California Department of Transportation, acting on the authority of the CTC, may provide five percent (5%) for that portion of the FAA grant which is for airport and aviation purposes; and WHEREAS, the City of Redlands is submitting an application for matching funds for an FAA project, which is included in the State's Capital Improvement Program (CIP), at Redlands Municipal Airport. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redlands, State of California, hereby authorizes the following: 1. Filing the application for matching funds for the FAA Grant No. 3-06-0195-07 Project. 2. Acceptance of the allocation of funds for the Project at Redlands Municipal Airport. 3. Execution of the Grant Agreement; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redlands authorizes and empowers the Mayor or any member of the City Council to execute in the name of the City of Redlands all necessary applications, contracts, agreements and amendments for the purpose of securing grant funds; and the Municipal Utilities Director or his designee is authorized to review and prepare in the name of the City of Redlands all necessary payment requests, progress reports, and final reports to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application.
