A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AUTHORIZING APPLICATION
FOR A CITIZEN PREPAREDNESS AND PAR'T'ICIPATION GRANT
WHEREAS, the Cali forniaVolunteers— Office of the Governor has announced the availability of
$1 million dollars in a competitive grant program using State Homeland. Security Grant Program.
funding; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands/Redlands Fire Department is an eligible applicant to apply for
this grant program; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands Fire Department has an active Emergency Preparedness
Program; and
WHEREAS, there is a demonstrated need to fulfill an important element of the Emergency
Preparedness Program by facilitating, developing, integrating and maintaining an additional public
safety component,
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Redlands does authorize staff to apply for
a Citizen Preparedness and Participation Grant, and:
1. Accepts responsibility for the grant award;
2. Acknowledges the contract for the grant award;
3. Approves the term and dollar amount of the contract; and
4. Appoints the Fire Chief as the Designated Applicant's Agent to take actions necessary for
the purpose of obtaining federal financial assistance through the Citizen Preparedness and
Participation grants administered by Cali fomiaVolunteers—Office of the Governor.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 6th Day of March, 2047.
