A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
FOR AUTHORIZATION TO SUBMIT AN APPLICATION
FOR CERTIFICATION AS A COMMUNITY SERVICE PROGRAM
TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF CONSERVATION
WHEREAS, California Redemption Value monies are available for payment to cities for
operation of collection programs and dropoff programs for the collection and recycling of CRV
beverage containers; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands operates a program to collect recyclable materials from
businesses and a dropoff program at the Corporate Yard for residents and businesses to drop off an array
of materials for recycing; and
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands commercial recycling collection program and drop-off
recycling programs are defined as a "Community Service Program" under Title 14 of the California
Code of Regulations; and
WHEREAS,tracking monies paid to program operators requires the City to separately track the
CRV containers by program; and
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City Council of the City of Redlands
authorizes submission of an application to the California Department of Conservation Division of
Recycling for certification ofthe City's dropoff recycling program and commercial recycling collection
program as a "Community Service Program".
