RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
REDLANDS AUTHORIZING FILING OF APPLICATION WITH
THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION, U. S.
DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
FOR A GRANT AND/OR LOAN UNDER THE TERMS OF PUB-
LIC LAW 89-136.
WHEREAS, under the terms of Public Law 89-136, the United
States of America has authorized the making of grants and/or loans
to public bodies and private or public nonprofit organizations or
associations to aid in financing the construction of specific pub-
lic projects :
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED :
Section 1 : That R. P. Merritt , Jr. , City Manager, be
and he is hereby authorized to execute and file an application
on behalf of the City of Redlands , California, with the Economic
Development Administration, U. S. :Department of Commerce, for a
grant and/or loan to aid in financing the construction of
Fire Station #3 at Lugonia Park (provide better
fire protection for industrial areas adjacent
to Redlands Municipal Airport , Alabama Street-
Colton Avenue) , Fire Station #5 at Marigold
Farms (provide fire protection to proposed
industrial development at Marigold Farms and
surrounding areas ) , and purchase three pumpers
and one aerial truck to provide additional
protection to industrial areas .
Section 2 . That R. P. Merritt , Jr. , City Manager, be
and he is hereby authorized and directed to furnish such informa-
tion as the Economic Development Administration, U. S . Department
of Commerce, may reasonably request in connection with the appli-
cation which is herein authorized to be filed.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 15th day of February,
1966 .
