A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN A GRANT APPLICATION AND
SUBSEQUENT CONTRACT WITH THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF
TRANSPORTATION FOR THE CITY'S AMERICAN WITH DISABILITIES ACT
(ADA) SIDEWALK, AND BIKEWAY AND TRAILS, CONNECTIVITY PLAN
WHEREAS, the City of Redlands (the "City") is eligible to receive State funding
for a 2010-2011 Transportation Planning Grant through the California Department of
Transportation("Caltrans"); and
WHEREAS, the City desires to prepare an application for grant funding to assist
in the development of an ADA sidewalk, and bikeway and trails, connectivity plan (the
"Connectivity Plan"); and
WHEREAS, Caltrans is soliciting applications for grant funding for community
based efforts such as the City's proposed Connectivity Plan, and requires a resolution
from the governing body;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS;
SECTION 1. The City Council of the City of Redlands hereby authorizes the
Mayor of the City of Redlands to sign an application and a subsequent funding contract
with Caltrans for funds allocated pursuant to the 2010-2011 Transportation Planning
Grant Program.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to the authority previously granted by Resolution No.
5923, staff will administer all agreements, and any amendments thereto, associated with
the grant application.
