HomeMy WebLinkAbout6810_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 6810 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE SAN BERNARDINO ASSOCIATION OF GOVERNMENTS (SANBAG) TRANPORTATION DEVELOPMENT ACT ARTICLE THREE GRANT WHEREAS, grant funds are available from the San Bernardino Association of Governments (SANBAG) Board's Transportation Act for the construction of Class I bicycle facilities; and WHEREAS, the City of Redlands is dedicated to the completion of the Orange Blossom Trail that will extend through the City; and WHEREAS,the City of Redlands has been actively seeking other grant opportunities to bring this new Ili-tear park and trail to fruition; and WHEREAS,the successful completion of the Orange Blossom Trail will provide economic, recreational and open space benefits to the surrounding communities as well as the eastern San Bernardino Valley and will also connect at each end with the Santa Ana River Trail; NOW,THEREFORE,be it resolved by the City Council of the City of Redlands as follows: Section 1. The City Council of the City of Redlands authorizes submission of an application to the San Bernardino Association of Governments (SANBAG) Article Three Call for Projects. Section 2. The City Council of the City of Redlands authorizes and empowers the Mayor or any member of the City Council to execute in the name of the City of Redlands all necessary applications, contracts, agreements, amendments for the purpose of securing grant funds. Further, the Quality of Life Department or his designee is authorized and empowered to review,prepare,and authorize in the name of the City of Redlands all necessary payment requests,progress reports, and final reports to implement and carry out the purposes specified in the grant application.
