HomeMy WebLinkAbout6029_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 6029 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AUTHORIZING SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE SOUTH COAST AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT DISTRICT WHEREAS, grant funds are available from the South Coast Air Quality Management District under the Carl Moyer Memorial Air Standards Attainment Program to incentivize the conversion of heavy duty truck fleets to low emission vehicles; and WHEREAS, the City of Redlands regularly replaces heavy duty trucks on an annual basis utilized in the collection of refuse and recyclables; and WHEREAS, the City may be eligible to receive grant funding to offset incrementally higher costs for the purchase of low emission trucks compared to regular diesel; and WHEREAS, the City's planned conversion of its refuse/recycling truck fleet to low emission vehicles will reduce the particulate matter and nitrous oxide emissions; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: I. The City Council of the City of Redlands authorizes submission of an application to the South Coast Air Quality Management District for grant funding under the Carl Moyer Memorial Air Standards Attainment Program. 2. The City Council of the City of Redlands authorizes the Municipal Utilities Director to act as the City's "Responsible Party" for the purpose of submitting the grant application.
