HomeMy WebLinkAbout6255_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 6255 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS FOR SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS WITH THE SAFE ROUTE TO SCHOOLS PROGRAM (SR2S) WHEREAS,the Caltrans has has announced traffic safety grant opportunities for the current fiscal year utilizing federal transportation funds under the Safe Routes to School program (SR2S), and WHEREAS,the City of Redlands is interested in and wishes to submit an application to the Caltrans Office of Local Assistance seeking a grant from the Safe Routes to School Program to install sidewalk improvements including ADA compliant access ramps within school zones, and WHEREAS, sidewalk installations, access ramps, crosswalk upgrades, and other pedestrian/bicycle improvements will improve pedestrian and bicycle safety for students on their way to and from school. NOW,THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Redlands hereby approves the application for grant funds to proceed with the Safe Route to Schools Program (SR2S), and approves a commitment of 10% of the total cost of the improvements for the City's local share of the grant funds.
