A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AUTHORIZING THE FILING
OF AN APPLICATION WITH THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION,
U. S . DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, FORA
GRANT UNDER THE TERMS OF PUBLIC LAW 89-136, AS AMENDED
WHEREAS, under the terms of Public Law 89-136, as amended, provides
special Economic Development and Adjustment Programs to help State and
local areas meet special needs arising from actual or threatened unem-
ployment as a result of economic dislocation or other severe changes in
economic conditions;
WHEREAS, under the terms of Public Law 89-136, as amended, the
United States of America has authorized the making of grants to a consor-
tium of cities representing such areas, of which Redlands is a part;
WHEREAS, Grants may be made to develop or carry a plan of economic
adjustment for any of the following: public facilities, public services,
business development, planning, technical assistance, research, training,
or other appropriate assistance to carry out an approved plan,
HEREBY BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
A . The City of Redlands is authorized to participate in the filing
of the applications necessary to pursue a Planning Grant under
Public Law 89-136, as amended.
B. W. C. Schindler, Director of Planning and Community Development,
be authorized to prepare, sign, and process application docu-
ments as an authorized representative of the City of Redlands.
