HomeMy WebLinkAbout4479_CCv0001.pdf RESOLUTION NO. 4479 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR URBAN STREAM RESTORATION GRANT FUNDS FROM THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES FOR THE ZANJA CREEK RESTORATION PROJECT WHEREAS, the State of California has enacted the Urban Stream Restoration Program, which provides funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions for the prevention of property damage by floods and bank erosion and to restore the natural value of streams; and WHEREAS, the State Department of Water Resources has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the program within the state, establishing necessary procedures governing applications by cities, counties, districts and nonprofit organizations under the program; and WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of Water Resources require the applicant to certify by resolution the approval of said application to the state; and WHEREAS, said application contains assurances that the applicant must comply with; and WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into a contract with the State of California for the restoration project; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby: 1. Approves the filing of an application for the Urban Stream Restoration Program under the State Department of Water Resources for the Zanja Creek Restoration Project, from Lincoln Street westerly to Division Street; and 2 . Certifies that said applicant understands the assurances in the application form; and 3 . Certifies that said applicant has or will have sufficient funds to operate and maintain the project(s) ; and 4 . Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City of Redlands to conduct all negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including, but not limited to applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests and so on, which may be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project. ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 7th day of March, 1989.
