HomeMy WebLinkAbout7378_CCv0001.pdf COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO RESOLUTION NO. 20 - CITY OF REDLANDS RESOLUTION NO. 7378 A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO AND THE CITY OF REDLANDS AUTHORIZING A REQUEST TO THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT (HUD) FOR METROPOLITAN CITY/URBAN COUNTY JOINT RECIPIENT STATUS On Tuesday 2014, on motion of Supervisor , duly seconded by Supervisor and carried, the following resolution is adopted by the Board of Supervisors of San Bernardino County, State of California. WHEREAS, Federal regulations require that San Bernardino County re-qualify every three years for Urban County Status under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program; and, WHEREAS, HUD has determined that the City of Redlands has sufficient population to qualify as a Metropolitan City and therefore receive an allocation of entitlement grants funds directly from HUD; and, WHEREAS, the City of Redlands has requested to be a part of the County of San Bernardino Urban County and have its allocation of entitlement grants be included in the County's allocation of entitlement grants; and WHEREAS, any Urban County and any Metropolitan City, located in whole or in part within that County, can request HUD to approve inclusion of the Metropolitan City as a part of the Urban County for purposes of planning and implementing a joint Community Development and Housing Assistance Program; and, WHEREAS, an approved joint request must remain effective for the period for which the County qualifies as an Urban County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS THAT: Section 1. The County of San Bernardino, an Urban County, and the City of Redlands, a Metropolitan City, join in a request to HUD for inclusion of this Metropolitan City as part of this Urban County for the purposes of planning and implementing a joint Community Development and Housing Assistance Program. Section 2. This Joint Request will remain in effect starting July 1, 2015-2016, 2016-2017 and 2017- 2018 and shall renew every three (3) years thereafter when the County re-qualifies as an Urban County unless revoked by either the County or the City. Section 3. This Joint Request shall accompany and be a part of the submission by the County as part of the County's Urban County Qualification documentation to HUD. Section 4, This Resolution takes effect immediately. The Joint Request shall be effective as of July 1, 2015.
