HomeMy WebLinkAbout7064_CCv0001.pdf NO ACTION TAKEN ON THIS RESOLUTION RESOLUTION NO. 7064 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS ELECTING TO CEASE TO BE SUBJECT TO THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' MEDICAL AND HOSPITAL CARE ACT FOR CITY COUNCIL MEMBERS WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands previously adopted Resolution No. 4572 for City Council members to be subject to and covered under the health benefit programs offered by Ca1PERS under the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital Care Act; and WHEREAS, Government Code section 22938 provides that a contracting agency which has elected to be subject to the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital Care Act may cease to be so subject by proper application by the contracting agency; and WHEREAS, the City of Redlands, hereinafter referred to as the Special District, is a contracting agency under the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital Care Act for participation by members of the City Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS AS FOLLOWS:. Section 1. The members of the City Council of the Special District (Group 700-City Council), and the City of Redlands, do hereby elect to cease to be subject to the provisions of the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital Care Act for such City Council members. Section 2. The coverage of the Public Employees' Medical and Hospital Care Act for City Council members shall cease at 12:00 midnight on December 31, 2011.
