RESOLUTION NO. 7567
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DESIGNATING 408 BROOKSIDE AVENUE AS A HISTORIC PROPERTY
(HISTORIC AND SCENIC RESOURCE NO. 125)
WHEREAS, Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code establishes rules and regulations
governing the designation, preservation and perpetuation of historic and scenic properties; and
WHEREAS,the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has held a duly noticed public
heariung to consider the designation of the following as a historic property: 408 Brookside Avenue,
Redlands, California, 92373 (County of San Bernardino Assessor's Parcel No. 0171-202-31); and
-WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Cominission has nominated the above-
mentioned property as a historic property, excluding the a 449 square foot garage that has been
significantly modified from the original structure built in 1927 and the non-original ninety-six (96)
square foot shed, in accordance with procedures established in Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands
Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands has held a duly noticed public hearing
to consider the recommendation of the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Redlands as
follows:
Section 1. The following property owned by Dr. Sylvie Wellhausen and Jamshid Zerafat
is hereby designated as a historic property: 408 Brookside Avenue, Redlands, California, 92373
(County of San Bernardino Assessor's Parcel No. 0171-202-31), excluding the a 449 square foot
garage that has been significantly modified from the original structure built in 1927 and the non-
original ninety-six(96) square foot shed, in accordance with the provisions of Section 2.62.170 of the
Redlands Municipal Code in that the single family residence is a particularly good example of the
Storybook architectural style.
Section 2. Neither the single family residential structure on the property nor the property,
excluding the demolition of the 449 square foot garage and the non-original ninety-six (96) square
foot shed, as those historic elements exist on the effective date of this Resolution, shall be altered on
the exterior,moved, demolished, subdivided, or otherwise permanently changed, unless a Certificate
of Appropriateness or Certificate of Hardship has been first secured from the City of Redlands.
Section 3. The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby directed to cause a certified
copy of this Resolution to be recorded with the County Recorder, County of San Bernardino.
Section 4. The City Council hereby determines that the approval of this Resolution is
exempt from review under the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to section
15061(b)(3) of the state's CEQA Guidelines because it can be seen with certainty that there is no
possibility that approval of this Resolution may have a significant impact on the environment.
