RESOLUTION NO. 4521
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DESIGNATING AN HISTORIC PROPERTY
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 1954 establishes rules and regulations
governing the designation, preservation and perpetuation of
historical and scenic properties; and
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has
held a duly advertised public hearing to consider designating the
following as an Historic Property:
Prendergast Packing House at the southwest corner of
Third Street and Oriental Avenue (301 N. Third Street)
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has
nominated the abovementioned property as a Historic Property in
accordance with procedures established in Ordinance No. 1954; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands has held a
duly advertised public hearing to consider the recommendation of
the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redlands as follows:
1. The following property is hereby designated as an
Historic Property:
Prendergast Packing House at the southwest corner of
Third Street and Oriental Avenue (301 N. Third Street)

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redlands as follows:
1. The following property is hereby designated as an
Historic Property:
Prendergast Packing House at the southwest corner of
Third Street and Oriental Avenue (301 N. Third Street)
Legal Description: That certain real property located
in the City of Redlands , County of San Bernardino,
State of California, described as Lots 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 ,
and 12 of Block D of the Central Townsite Subdivision,
as shown in Book 8 of Maps, Page 57, Official Records
of said County, along with the vacated portion of a
street lying adjacent to the north.
2. The historic property shall not be altered on the
exterior, moved, demolished, subdivided or otherwise
permanently changed on the exterior until a Certificate
of Appropriateness has been secured.

3 . A listing of significant design features of the
property was determined by the Historic and Scenic
Preservation Commission, and these should be preserved
in the future.
4. All provisions of Ordinance No. 1954, and any amend-
ments thereto, are in effect now and in the perpetual
future.
5. The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby
directed to cause a certified copy of this Resolution
to be recorded with the County Recorder, County of San
Bernardino.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 6th day of May, 1989 .
