RESOLUTION NO. 4764
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DESIGNATING A HISTORIC AND SCENIC PROPERTY
WHEREAS, Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code
establishes rules and regulations governing the designation,
preservation and perpetuation of historical and scenic properties;
and
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has
held a duly advertised public hearing to consider designating the
following as a historic property:
Governor Jackson House
124 San Mateo Street
Redlands, California
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has
nominated the abovententioned property as a historic property in
accordance with procedures established in Chapter 2.62 of the
Redlands Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the Casty Council of the City of Redlands has held a
duly advertised public hearing to consider the recommendation of
the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redlands as follows:
1. The following properties are hereby designated as a
historical property:
Governor Jackson House
124 San Mateo Street
Redlands, California
Exhibit "A" contains legal description
2. This historic property shall not be alter on the
exterior, Moved, demolished, subdivided, or other
wise permanently changed on the exterior until a
Certificate of Appropriateness has been secured .
3. All provisions of Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands
Municipal Code and any amendments thereto, are in
effect now and in the perpetual future.
4. The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby
directed to cause a certified copy of this
Resolution to be recorded with the County Recorder,
County of San Bernardino.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 4th day of June, 1991.

certify that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the city
Council at a regular meeting thereof held on the 4th day of June,
1991, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmembers Beswick, Cunningham, Milson;
Mayor DeMirjyn
NOES: Councilmember Larson
ABSENT: None

EXHIBIT "A"
Lot 81 block 29 of West Redlands, in the City of Redlands, County
of San Bernardino, State of California, as per map recorded in
Book 9, page 22 of Maps, in the office of the County Recorder of
said County.
Also that portion of the North 112 of Locust Avenue (now vacated)
adjoining said Lot on the South, and particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at the Southeasterly corner of said Lot 8 and extending
thence Southeasterly along the Westerly line of San Mateo Street a
distance of 35 feet; thence at right angles Southwesterly parallel
with the Southerly line of said Lot 8, a distance of 246 feet;
thence at right angles Northwesterly a distance of 35 feet to the
Southwesterly corner of said Lot 8; thence at right angles
Northeasterly along the Southerly line of said Lot 8, 246 feet to
the point of beginning .
EXCEPTING THEREFROM the following described property:
That portion of Lots 8 and 9 and a portion of Locust Avenue
(now vacated) in Block 29 of Map of West Redlands, in the City of
Redlands, as recorded in Book 9 of Maps, page 22, in the office of
the County Recorder of said County, described as follows:
Beginning at the intersection of the Southwesterly right-of-way
line of San Mateo Street (60 feet wide) with the center line of
said vacated Locust Avenue; thence Southwesterly along last said
line to its intersection with a line parallel with and 40.00 feet
(measured at right angles) Southwesterly of the centerline of said
San Mateo Street; thence Northwesterly along said parallel line,
387 feet to the beginning of a tangent curve concave Southwesterly
and having a radius of 13.00 feet; thence Northwesterly along said
curve through a central angle of 370 58' 48" , 8.62 feet to its
intersection with the Southeasterly right-of-way line of Magnolia
Avenue (70 feet wide) ; thence Northeasterly along last said line,
12.75 feet to its intersection with said Southwesterly right-of-way
line of San Mateo Street; thence Southeasterly along last said
line, 395 feet to the point of beginning.
