RESOLUTION NO. 4856
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DESIGNATING AN HISTORIC RESOURCE
WHEREAS, Chapter 2.62 of the Redlands Municipal Code
establishes rules and regulations governing the designation,
preservation and perpetuation of historical and scenic properties;
and
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has
held a duly advertised public hearing to consider designating the
following as a historical property:
House of Neighborly Service
612 Lawton Street
Redlands, California 92374
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission has
nominated the above-mentioned property as a historic property in
accordance with procedures established in Chapter 2 . 62 of the
Redlands Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands has held a
duly advertised public hearing to consider the recommendation of
the Historic and Scenic Preservation Commission; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Redlands as follows:
1. The following property is hereby designated as a
historical property:
House of Neighborly Service
612 Lawton Street
Redlands, California 92374

2. This historic property shall not be altered on the
exterior, moved, demolished, subdivided, or other wise
permanently changed on the exterior until a Certificate
of Appropriateness has been secured.
3 . All provisions of Chapter 2 .62 of the Redlands
Municipal Code and any amendments thereto, are in
effect now and in the perpetual future.
4 . The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby
directed to cause a certified copy of this Resolution
to be recorded with the County Recorder, County of San
Bernardino.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 21st day of April, 1992.

EXHIBIT "A"
HOUSE OF NEIGHBORLY SERVICE
That portion of Lot 27 , Block 77, Rancho San Bernardino, in
the County of San Bernardino, State of California, as per plat
recorded in Book 7 of Maps, page 2, records of said County,
described as follows:
BEGINNING 874 feet South of the Southeast corner of Colton
Avenue and Lawton Street, said point being the North line of
property conveyed in the Deed to Henry C. Oswald by Deed from
Charles G. Potter dated October 28 , 1925, and recorded November 14,
1925, in Book 29 of Official Records, page 377; thence North along
the East line of Lawton Street, 200 feet; thence East to the East
line of the East 3/4 of the East 1/2 of the West 1/2 of the North
1/2 of Lot 27, Block 77, Rancho San Bernardino; thence South
parallel to Lawton Street 200 feet; thence West along land so
conveyed to Oswald to the point of beginning.
