RESOLUTION NO. 4896
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDLANDS
DESIONATING AN 14ISTORIC RESOUr CE
HISTORIC RESOURCE NO. 84
WHEREAS, Chapter 2 . 62 of the Redlands Municipal Code
establishes rules and regulations governing the designation,
preservation and perpetuation of historical and scenic
properties; and
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation
Commission has held a duly advertised public hearing to
consider designating the following as an historic property:
C. L. Bowman House
124 East Olive Avenue
Redlands, California
WHEREAS, the Historic and Scenic Preservation
Commission has nominated the above-mentioned property as a
historic property in accordance with procedures established
in Chapter 2 . 62 of the Redlands Municipal Code; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Redlands has
held a duly advertised public hearing to consider the
recommendation of the Historic and Scenic Preservation
Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of
the City of Redlands as follows:
1 . The following property is hereby designated as an
historical property:
C. L. Bowman House
124 East Olive Avenue
Redlands, California
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
See attached Exhibit "A"

2 . This historical property shall not be altered on
the exterior, moved, demolished, subdivided, or
other wise permanently changed on the exterior
until a Certificate of Appropriateness has been
secured.
3 . All provisions of Chapter 2 . 62 of the Redlands
Municipal Code and any amendments thereto, are in
effect now and in the perpetual future.
4 . The City Clerk of the City of Redlands is hereby
directed to cause a certified copy of this
Resolution to be recorded with the County
Recorder, County of San Bernardino.
ADOPTED, SIGNED AND APPROVED this 6th day of October,
1992 .

Parcel No. 1:
The East 10 feet of Lot 3 in Block "B" and the West 40 feet of Lot 4, measured
along Olive Avenue, in Block "B" of Watrous First Addition, in the City of
Redlands, County of San Bernardino, State of California, as per map recorded in
Book 5 of Maps, page 34, in the office of the County Recorder of said county.
Parcel No. 2:
A portion of Lot 4, Block "B", Watrous First Addition, in the City of Redlands,
County of San Bernardino, State of California, as per map recorded in Book 5
of Maps, page 34, in the office of the County Recorder of said County,
described as follows:
Beginning at the Southwesterly corner of Olive Avenue and Sonora Street; thence
Southeasterly along the Westerly side of said Street 160 feet; thence at right
angles Southwesterly 60 feet; thence at right angles Northwesterly 160 feet to
the Southerly line of Olive Avenue; thence at right angles Northeasterly along
the Southerly line of Olive Avenue 60 feet to beginning.
Except the Southerly 41 feet conveyed to Judson W. Mitchell and Henrietta
R. Mitchell in deed recorded November 8, 1920 in Book 699, page 249 of Deeds.

An easement for driveway purposes in, over and across the East 5 feet of the
West 40 feet of the North 90 feet of Lot-3 in Block "B", of Watrous First
Addition to Redlands, in the City of Redlands,, County of Sari Bernardino, State
of California, as per mao recorded in Book 5, page 34 of Maps: in the Office
of the County Recorder o€ said County, all as provided in that certain agreement
made by and between C. L. Libby and Charlotte Libby, husband and wife, and
John E. Hollett and E. J. Hollett, husband and wife, dated November 21, 1907,
which agreement was recorded November 23, 1907 in Book 404, page 159 of Deeds.
